Favorite Hobbies? Yoga and Meditation.

Why do you like working with kids? I love working with kids because it gives me an opportunity to participate in new and exciting experiences with the students and community where we can learn and grown together.

Why do you like working with kids? I love it because I get to be apart of children’s lives in the most affect way possible by showing them that I care (C.A.R.E.S..hahaha like that) in the truest most naturally way.

Garden awards go to.....


Congratulations for the GOLDEN SHOVEL award. Fair Oaks has upkept their beautiful garden and always have a bountiful amount of fresh produce. Fair oaks often gives their parents produce and use it for the weekly cooking. Keep up the awesome work! 


Congratulations on the Sprouting garden award. Rio Vista had turned their garden around and now have harvested plenty of produce and continue to grow their garden.


Fire Department at Holbrook Language Academy

On March 12th students at HOLA were surprised by a special visit from CCC Fire Protection District Fire-Rescue Public Education. Students were educated on the proper action to take in a sudden fire or life emergency. The Fire-Rescue team also shared ways students are able to help their community in staying safe and also future career paths.

Boost Conference

Mt. Diablo CARES was fortunate enough to send five CARES staff to boost in Palm Springs were they attended many workshops are we able to network with many other programs and vendors. 


Camp Concord 2018


Family Night at El Monte

El Monte hosted a family game night and served delicious soups. El monte had many board games for families to check out. El Monte tied in their nutrition and also served three of our Harvest of the Month Recipes: Chili Cucumbers, Cream of Broccoli Soup and Avocado Tortilla Soup. The families had a wonderful time!

Warm Suppers

Fair Oaks was our first school to receive warm suppers and the students loved it!! On the menu was chicken tacos, beans, carrots and apples. From the pictures below you'll see that they thought the food was yummy!!


Classified Employee of the Year

The CARES team would like to give a huge Acknowledgement to Program Coordinator Jeremy Macahilig for being nominated for Classified school employee of the year. Jeremy has worked for the CARES program for nearly 10 years and has served as a program coordinator for 6 years.He is currently at Holbrook Language Academy where is excelling and thriving as a Program Coordinator. We are beyond proud of Jeremy!! 





A special Thank you to Sun Terrace for hosting the Jamboree and having great hospitality. All our students enjoyed the Jamboree and had so much fun!
