Equity and Disproportionality

Welcome to the Equity and Disproportionality Web Page.

On February 25, 2013, The Board of Education Approved the Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS) Plan.   The three District focus areas for our plan include:

Response to Instruction and Intervention

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports

Culturally Responsive School Environment

This year we will be implementing the CEIS Plan.  During the Leadership Institute in August, Dr. Mary Bacon presented to all district administrators and managers around the area of Cultural Proficiency.  Also during the Leadership Institute, Tom Hierck presented to all elementary and secondary school site teams around the area of Pyramid of Behavior Interventions and The Seven Keys to a Positive Learning Environment.

We have continued to implement these strategies throughout the school year.

This year there will be six pilot schools that we will be working with directly as we implement our CEIS Plan.  An important feature of the plan includes the creation of a multi-disciplinary team that includes a Teacher on Special Assignment, Behavior Management Specialist and a Social Work Specialist.  This team will be providing direct support to the six pilot school sites.

We look forward to an exciting year as we address these important issues.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Roselin
