Chief Business Officer Dr. Lisa Gonzales is focused on strengthening customer service by hosting school site visits to staff who are not regularly at school sites. Teams from the fiscal department, purchasing department, directors, and teams from central office locations like maintenance, food service, transportation, and purchasing will all have the opportunity to attend regular walk-thru's to meet their customers and better understand the needs of the school sites and how their work supports students and staff.

This week's visit to Wren Avenue Elementary included a tour from Principal Celeste Kitts. Chief Accountant Nancy Chen shared, "It is a very good opportunity for us to know our school sites better." Fiscal Analyst DeeDee Blankley added, "It was also wonderful to put faces to names and to hopefully bridge that gap between "us" and "them" that can happen over email and phone calls, into a "we" mentality when dealing with the challenges that the site may face."

COVID-19 vaccine coming to MDUSD

MDUSD is teaming up with Contra Costa Health Services, Kaiser Permanente and the Contra Costa County Office of Education to make sure everyone can get a safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccine is now available for anyone who is 12 or older, and to help our families find a convenient vaccination opportunity, Concord High School, Ygnacio Valley High School and Mt. Diablo High School are hosting a no-cost clinic.  See the dates and times below.

Everyone is welcome, including students who are 12 or older, family members and members of the community. Appointments are also available through the county’s scheduling page or by calling 1-833-829-2626.

The vaccine (Pfizer) requires two doses to provide full protection, so new patients at our clinic will receive follow-up appointments. People younger than 18 need permission from a parent – send in the consent form for your child or come in person, especially if you need a vaccine too!

Information and scheduling will also be available for required school immunization booster vaccines, such as Tdap.

Getting vaccinated is the most effective way of protecting ourselves, our families and other students from getting COVID-19. As we prepare for next fall, let’s all do our part to keep our schools healthy and safe.

More information about coronavirus and vaccine is available at cchealth.org/coronavirus and, for Kaiser Permanente members, at kp.org.

Arcadia Invitational May 7-8, 2021.

Congratulations to the College Park Track and Field Team. They had 15 members qualify for the prestigious Arcadia Invitational Track Meeting held in Arcadia May 7-8, 2021.
