The Mt. Diablo Unified School District is proud to offer Dual Language programs in Spanish and English at six of our schools serving students from TK to 8th grade.
Two-Way programs include English, Spanish, and bilingual English/Spanish speakers. One-Way programs include Spanish-dominant and bilingual English/Spanish students. Students in all programs receive instruction in both languages, spending 50% of their academic class time each day working in English and 50% of their time working in Spanish.
Two-way programs are offered at Bancroft Elementary in Walnut Creek, Holbrook Language Academy and Ygnacio Valley Elementary in Concord, and Shore Acres Elementary in Bay Point. One-way programs are available at Cambridge and Meadow Homes elementary schools in Concord. Holbrook serves students in grades TK-8, Bancroft's program serves students in grades K-5, and the other schools serve students in grades TK-5.
