MDUSD's Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE) seeks holiday donations
Posted 11/22/22

Below is a letter from MDUSD's Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE) program regarding its annual holiday donation drive for homeless and foster youth students:

Dear Friends,

Mt. Diablo Unified School District is committed to making sure that all students arrive at school ready and able to learn. To support this endeavor, our Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE) is requesting holiday donations for our homeless and foster youth students. In light of the holidays, we like to “tis the season” by asking for gift cards from the following types of places where students can make holiday purchases:

  • Target
  • Old Navy
  • Generic prepaid credit cards
  • Walmart
  • GAP
  • Gift cards to local restaurants

We are requesting card denominations of $25 or $50, with the amounts clearly marked, so recipients know how much is available to spend. Gift cards can be mailed or delivered to the below address:

Mt. Diablo HOPE
2730 Salvio Street, Room 24
Concord, CA 94519

You can also make a tax-deductible donation by sending a check to the above address or by sending a monetary donation to via Venmo @MDUSDHOPE.

Monetary donations will fund holiday gift cards. If there is cash remaining after gift cards have been provided for every HOPE student, then the money will be used to support HOPE students
throughout the year (i.e. food, senior activities/pictures, fines, clothing for interviews, prom, yearbooks, brief emergency shelter, and other needs as they may arise).

We are asking that donations be received by Friday, December 16, 2022. Please call or e-mail the HOPE program with questions at (925) 682-8000 x3054 and hope@mdusd.org. Also, please forward this letter to five friends! All donations we receive go to our homeless and foster youth in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.

Thank you for sharing HOPE!

Sincerely, your friends at the HOPE Program
